Antique Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock with 6 Wood Utensils

The perfect size antique stoneware crock to hold your instant collection of wooden utensils!  It's in excellent condition!  Salt glaze is created by throwing salt into the kiln during firing which vaporizes and the sodium reacts with the silica in the clay to form a coating of glassy acid-resistant glossy surface.  The crocks were used for storing pickles, salted meat, sauerkraut, and butter before refrigeration existed.  7 1/8" tall, 4.75" diameter around top.
